As propeller sizes increase, the longer arms required create vibration issues that negatively impact flight performance and video stability. The ApexLR EVO uses a unique tension strut design between the arms to increase rigidity and shift the resonant frequency of the assembly.
By preloading the arms we can keep vibrations to a manageable level while still using 5.5mm thick arms for a 7" propeller. Our approach saves 20g in carbon weight alone compared to equivalent 8mm thick arms.
The ApexLR EVO is a variation of the typical "Dead Cat" frame that we modified to align the front and rear motors and maintain the much-loved compressed-x geometry in the motor arrangement.
This ensures that the frame remains balanced and flight characteristics are not compromised, unlike the classic "dead cat" design where the rear engines are located closer to the body and severely affect handling.
